DL-Javon Provitt ready to rock in 2023

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the return of DL-Javon Provitt (Warren, HS) for the 2023 season. Provitt begins his fourth season with the Express and returns as one of our defensive starters.

This past season season we were crowned USA Bowl Summer Division National Champions, won our Division in the GDFL for the fourth year in a row and qualified for the GDFL National Playoffs for the seventh year in a row. In January of 2023 we headed to Daytona Beach, FL to face the Minneapolis Warriors in the USA Bowl Summer Division National Championship Game. (17-20 loss) The above mentioned team accolades, Javon had a direct hand in making possible.

On the season Javon recorded 29 tackles, 5 tackles for loss (-15yds), 3 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries one of which he returned 40 yards for a touchdown and a pass breakup. For his efforts he was named GDFL All-Pro for the first time in his career.

Javon played a major role in leading us last year to a perfect season and the 2021 GDFL National Championship. We kicked off the 2022 season with a victory in the USA Bowl Summer Division National Championship game as well.

Provitt is a graduate of Warren Harding High School where he was a standout athlete in both football and track. Javon earned All-State and All Region accolades in both sports.
