All-Region DE-Anthony Thompson earns 2021 roster spot

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the signing of DE- Anthony Thompson (Erie Royals) for the 2021 season. Anthony begins his first season with the Express and will look to earn a spot in the defensive front rotation and on special teams. 

Anthony graduated from Erie High School where he was a 3yr letterman and starter for the Royals in football. Thompson earned 1st team All-Region accolades and was selected to play in the annual Save an Eye All Star game and play for Mercyhurst University in the fall. Both of those were negated due to the virus shutdown. Anthony also played basketball for two seasons as well. 

"Anthony has great size and quickness. He came to a private workout and impressed the coaches with his attitude and explosiveness. He has a very high motor and an attitude for success. We are pleased to have him on board and are looking forward to seeing him in an Express uniform this season"-Director of Operations Paul Pennington.
