The Erie Express are happy to announce the return of DL-Zsolt Bonyai (Erie East, HS) for the 2022 season. Zsolt begins his second season with the Express and returns as one of our starters on special teams. 

Zsolt played a major role in our finishing the 2021 season a perfect 11-0 and as GDFL National Champions. We have been invited to play in the USA Bowl Summer Division National Championship in Daytona, FL. This was made possible by the unselfish play of Zsolt and his teammates. 

Bonyai was a three sport athlete for the Warriors competing in football, track and cross country. After graduation Zsolt served his country for 6 years as a member of the US Army and is an Iraq war veteran. 

"Z did an amazing job for us last season. He has a great team first attitude and does whatever is asked of him and at a high level. He is a guy we never have to worry about whether or not he will be at practice or games nor are we worried as to whether or not he knows his assignment. It had been a while since he last played but he progressed weekly and played a major role in us winning it all.
