Express sign Northwestern Standout QB-Ryan Tewell

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the signing of QB-Ryan Tewell (Allegheny College) for the 2023 season. Ryan begins his first season with the Express and will look to earn a spot on the quarterback rotation and on special teams.

Ryan is a graduate of Northwestern, HS in Albion , PA where he finished his high school career as one of the premier quarterbacks in D10 history. Ryan holds every major Wildcat passing record and finished his career with a 17-3 record having never lost a regular season game. Ryan finished his high school career with 4,174 yards of offense including 51 TDs. Tewell holds Wildcat records: passing yards in a game (316), passing yards in season (1,565), passing yards in career (3,237), passing TDs in game (6), passing TDs in season (26), completed passes in game (19), completion percentage in season (61%), completion percentage in career (55%). 

For his efforts Ryan was named Region Player of the Year as a Senior, First Team All-District QB, 2x All-Region QB, and served as a team captain. Tewell earned 4 varsity letters in both football and basketball while at Northwestern.

Ryan helped to lead the Wildcats to back to back undefeated regular season records and a pair of Region Titles! He was also selected to play in both the North South All-Star game as well as the Save an Eye All-Star game.

Tewell played one season of college ball at Allegheny College.
