7x All-Pro OL-Daniel "Moose" Mattner returns for 2023

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the return of 7x All-Pro OL-Daniel "Moose" Mattner (McKendree University) for the 2023 season. Daniel begins his second season with us and is a projected starter in the offensive line rotation.

Daniel last played for us during the 2021 season and helped lead us the GDFL National Title as well as an invitation to the USA Bowl Summer Division national Championship Bowl Game which we won 21-20 to kick off the 2022 season. For his efforts that season Dan was named GDFL All-Pro.

Daniel has played professionally for the Osos de Toluca (LFA Mexico) as well as the Canton Pitbulls, Lorain County Nightmares (PAFL) and Watertown Red and Black (EFL).

Daniel was a 3x all state selection in high school, won a state championship, 4x All Pro selection (EFL) and 2x All Pro selection (PAFL)

Dan did a great job for us in 2021. Sadly he was injured in the GDFL National Championship game but found his way back to the field before the game ended to celebrate our championship with his teammates. His injury is healed and he is 100%. We fully expect him to pick up right where he left off and be performing at an All-Pro level once again"-Director of Operations Paul Pennington.
