6x All-Pro DL- Chris Foster returns for 2023

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the return of 6x All-Pro DL- Chris Foster (Akron University) for the 2023 season. Chris begins his third season with the Express and is a returning starter on the defensive line.

In 2022 the Erie Express were named USA Bowl Summer Division National Champions, won our Division of the GDFL for the fourth year in a row and qualified for the GDFL National Playoffs for the seventh season in a row. We will be heading to Florida again in January to face off against another defending champion in the Minneapolis Warriors. Chris played a major role in those team accolades.

Chris demands a double team which allows our linebackers to run free. Both inside linebackers were named All-Pro with one being named GDFL Defensive Player of the Year. That does not happen if the guys up front are not doing their job.

In 7 games Chris registered 23 tackles, 10 tackles for loss for -51 yards of offense, 4 sacks, a fumble caused and a blocked kick.

"Chris has done an amazing job for us. He is as blue collar as it gets. Brings his lunch pale, punches in and for a full 60 minutes goes to work. We love his team first attitude and his ability to help lift the play of those around him. This will be his third season and we will be playing for our third National Championship in as many years. Chris won his league and played for a National Championship prior to joining the Express. He is a proven winner and we are blessed to have him back on board in 2023. Prior to joining the Express Chris had played 2 seasons of professional indoor football for the West Virginia Greyhounds and West Virginia Hammers. Foster has played 10 seasons of outdoor football earning All-Pro accolades in 5 of them and has also played in 5 All Star games. Chris has played for the Akron Jagz, Ohio Golden Knights and Northeast Ohio Silverbacks. Chris was part of the Silverbacks 2019 PAFL T2 Championship team and National Bowl game participant.

Chris is joined on the Express by his Father Chris Sr. and brother Donald, both assistant Coaches on the Express staff.
