Express travel light but win big!

by Erie Express Media

Thank you to the Washington Bulldawgs for a great clean and physical game. We wish you all the best the remaining season, minus one game of course.

Although carrying only 28 of our rostered players there the Express were able get the job done and move to 1-1 on the season with an impressive 30-6 road victory.

Donte Harden started the scoring when he found the end zone from 4 yards out, the 2pt try was no good and Erie led 6-0 in the first.

Allen Jones would then find the end zone from 7yds out with the 2pt try being no good to extend the Express lead to 12-0.

Erie would add the final score of the half on an amazing play. Linebacker Shawn Holloway stripped the Bulldawgs runner of the ball which was then picked up by defensive end Kristopher Ford. Kris ran about 40 yards before having the ball punched out from behind at which time Kent Walker landed on the ball in the end zone. The 2pt try was no good and Erie led 18-0 at halftime.

Joey Scarabino connected with Koran Williams to open the second half scoring. The XP kick was blocked and Erie led 24-0.

The Bulldawgs answered that TD pass with one of their own. Their 2pt try was no good making it 24-6 Erie.

Terry Jackson would score the final points of the game on a 14 yard run as time expired.

Antonio Batista, Cam Sanders, Osha Jackson and Denzel Jones all recorded INT's.

We will be off until the 24th when we travel to Columbus, Ohio to face off against the Fire.
