Express sign ATH-Garrett Kaufman to 2023 roster

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the signing of ATH-Garrett Kaufman (Lock Haven University) for the 2023 season. Garrett begins his first season with the Express and is projected to be our starting long snapper. He will compete for reps at linebacker and on special teams as well.

Garrett is a graduate of Fort LeBouef High School where he was a standout football player and track athlete for the Bison earning 3 varsity letters. Garrett led the Bison in tackles his Junior and Senior year and later went on to play 2 seasons at Lock Haven University as a long snapper and linebacker.

Kaufman attended our open combine and impressed the coaches with his quickness and football IQ and ability to accept coaching.

"Special teams are such an important part of the game we can never look past them. We will be without our starting long snapper from last year so this was certainly an area we needed to address and in walks Garrett. He has done this in high school and college and his snaps looked very good in workouts. We are very happy to have him on board with us and are expecting great things from him in 2023"-Director of Operations Paul Pennington.
