Express sign 2x All-Pro OL-Austin Russell for 2023

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the signing of 2x Al-Pro OL-Austin Russell (Walsh University) for the 2023 season. 

Russell is a graduate of Louisville High School (OH) and played his college ball for Walsh University. Austin begins his first season with the Express but is far from a rookie. Russell has played for the Columbus Gladiators, Cleveland Cobras and Canton Pitbulls. 

Russell was named team captain in three of his four seasons with the Gladiators and led them to a pair of conference finals winning one with a league runner up finish in the BCFL. 

Austin also helped to lead the Pitbulls to a conference finals appearance in the PAFL. Austin was selected as an NFFL All-Star and was selected to play in a pro indoor game versus the CIFL Marion Blue Racers.

"Austin is a proven winner with a champions mindset. His size, quickness and experience are a great addition to our offensive line. You can never have enough great linemen and when you can add one that has proven himself to be one of the premier guys in his previous leagues it is a great day for the Express.
