EXPRESS RE-SIGN TWO WAY THREAT, IAN WHISTER FOR 2026 SEASON

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the return of OL/DL- Ian Whistler (Meadville, HS) for the 2026 season. Ian begins his second year with the Express and returns as one of our starters in the offensive and defensive rotation as well as on special teams.

Last season Ian did an amazing job for us playing on both sides of the ball. Due to lack of commitment from many of our players, Ian and others were asked to fill multiple positions weekly. Ian played whatever position was asked of him and played at a high level.

Whistler represented the Express during the PAFL All-Star Game held at Kent State University and recorded 4 tackles.
Ian is a graduate of Meadville, HS where he was a three sport standout for the Bulldogs competing in Lacrosse, Wrestling and Football.
In Football, Ian was a four year letter winner for the Bulldogs. 
During his time there the Bulldogs were crowned District Champions 3x and made it to the sweet 16 in the state playoffs. Whistler finished his high school career with 32 pancake blocks on offense and 16 sacks on defense. Ian clearly is a menace on both sides of the ball.

"Ian did a great job for us last season. Our coaches were daunted with the weekly task of figuring out a starting lineup due to the lack of commitment from many. Ian proved himself to be a player that we can count on weekly and to play at a high level. We love his energy and commitment to the team. He is a blessing to have on board and we are expecting a great season from him in 2026-Director of Operations Paul Pennington.
