Express add ST Coach Chris Cousins for 2023

by Erie Express Media

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the addition of Chris Cousins to the coaching staff for 2023. Chris will help coach the offensive line and handle the special teams for us as our new Special Teams Coordinator.

Chris may be new to the Express but he is not new to the game. As a player, Cousins was an 8x All-Pro selection and a 3x League Champion. Chris has had stints with the Ohio Golden Knights, Ohio Raiders and most recently was on board the Akron Canton Pitbulls.

The Pitbulls claimed 2022 PFL Championship and finished the season a perfect 12-0. The Pitbulls finished the season ranked in the top 10 in the Nation in the Sunshine Bowl Rankings and competed in the 2023 Summer/Fall Division of the Sunshine Bowl National Championship Bowl Game Series in Miami, FL.

Chris has multiple years of experience coaching the offensive line and tight ends. This will be his first year coaching special teams but his experience as a player will surely serve us well as our new STC!

"Adding quality coaches is very difficult at this level, especially ones who have a championship resume. Coach Cousins has won multiple championships as a player, he knows what is needed to accomplish the final goal of being the last man standing. We have been very fortunate in recent years to have championship caliber coaches with high expectations for our players. That rubs off on them and the end result speaks for itself. We are very pleased to be able to add yet another champion to our coaching staff and are certain that Coach Cousins will do an amazing job for us"-Director of Operations Paul Pennington.

Chris is a graduate of Toledo Bowsher High School in Toledo, Ohio and played his college ball for Morgan State University.
