DL- Javontae Broome back for 2023

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the return of veteran DL- Javontae Broome (Barberton, HS) for the 2023 season. Broome begins his second season with the Express and is one of our returning starters on special teams. 

Javontae did an amazing job for us last season and helped us secure our fourth consecutive division title and qualify for the GDFL National Playoffs. In January we headed to Daytona Beach, FL to face off against the Minneapolis Warriors in the USA Bowl Summer Division National Championship Bowl Game (20-17 loss). The above mentioned team accolades were made possible in part due to his amazing efforts.

Javontae is a graduate of Barberton, HS where he was a standout athlete for the Magics. Since graduation Broome has stayed active in the game he loves. He has 8 years of experience having played previously for the Akron Raging Raptors, Ohio Broncos for 3 years where he was a member of the 2017 Broncos OFL Championship runner up squad. 

Broome played for the Northeast Ohio Silverbacks in 2018 and 2019 and played a role in the Silverbacks winning the PAFL T2 Championship in 2019.  Broome led the 2017 Broncos 2018 , 2019 Silverbacks in special team tackles won 4 conference championships.
