Defensive Lineman Dakota Klawitter looks to make impact in 2026
The Erie Express are pleased to announce the return of DL/OL Dakota Klawitter (North East, HS) for the 2026 season. Dakota begins his second season with the Express and will compete for a spot in the starting rotation on the offensive or defensive line as well as special teams.

Last season Dakota did a great job for us even though he found himself injured mid way through he still was there every week to support his teammates. Dakota helped to lead us to the PAFL Playoffs and for his efforts was awarded with the Express Silent Impact Player of the Year.

Dakota is a graduate of North East, HS where he played football his senior year. Prior to attending North East, Dakota was enrolled and played the previous three seasons at Susquenita, HS. While there he led them to the playoffs for the first time in 28 years. He finished his high school career earning 4 varsity letters and was on 2 playoff teams.

Dakota holds a Susquenita record for pass breakups in a season (6) from his defensive end position.

Dakota attended our open tryout and impressed the coaches with his quickness and footwork.

"Despite missing several games due to an injury, Dakota still showed up every week and his presence made a difference. He is back healthy now and was doing a great job for us prior to injury so we know what he will be bringing now that he is back. He has a great team first mentality and cares more about the teams success over his own accolades. You build around guys with that mindset. We are blessed to have him back on board and are expecting a breakout year from him in 2026-Director of Operations Paul Pennington.

Dakota is sponsored for the second year in a row by Brighter 2 Morrows Counseling. For all your counseling needs, look no further than this partner of Erie Express Football.
