Brandon Hanna named Head Football Coach of the Jefferson Area Falcons (OH)

by Erie Express Media

The Erie Express are pleased to announce that quarterback Brandon Hanna has been named the new Head Football Coach of the Jefferson Area Falcons (OH). The Falcons are a OHSAA Division 5 team and are proud members of the NE8 conference.

Hanna joined the Falcons last season and served as the offensive coordinator. In his first season the Falcons improved tremendously on the offensive side of the ball going from 9.2 to 27.2 ppg and from 183.1 to 363.3ypg.

Brandon takes over the helm from Coach Ed Rankin who served as the Falcons head coach for the past three seasons.

"I’m extremely honored and blessed to have this opportunity to coach this amazing group of kids. Administration has shown tremendous support and the kids have already bought in. Our previous coach Ed Rankin has been the greatest mentor a new coach could have. This is a dream come true."-Brandon Hanna

Hanna has led the Express from his quarterback position for the past 2 seasons and holds virtually every passing record. We have been in the GDFL Xtreme Conference Finals the past two seasons and have had the #1 and #2 ranked offense in the league both years. Due to the covid shutdown we did not play this past season but in 2019 Brandon was named the GDFL Player of the Year and has been named GDFL All-Pro each season he has played for us.

"I cannot begin to tell you how blessed we are to have Brandon in an Express uniform and the kids at Jefferson are just as blessed. He is a leader in every way possible. Brandon will elevate the play of those young men, teach them life lessons and instill in them leadership qualities that they will carry throughout life. And of course they will have a ton of fun along the way.

We are so happy for him and know he will do well."-Director of Operations Paul Pennington.

We are all so happy for you Brandon and know you will do as an amazing job with the Falcons as you do with us. We will be there rooting you on.
