ATH - Gary Williams Returns for 2025 Season

by Paul Pennington

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the return of ATH-Gary Williams (Strong Vincent, HS) or the 2025 season. Gary begins his second season with the Express and will compete for a starting spot in the offensive or defensive rotation as well as special teams.

Gary did an amazing job for us last season and played a major role in our 2024 TPFL Championship game appearance. We finished the season 11-2 and received an invite to the I-75 Pro Advancement Bowl (3-6 loss against the Sheboygan County Sabercats).

We also accepted the invite on January 18th to compete for a National Championship against the defending National Champion; Indy Bison in the USA Bowl in Daytona, FL. (0-41 Loss) Gary played a major role in those team accolades as well!

Gary attended and played in both of our post season games and did an amazing job for us.

Williams is a graduate of Strong Vincent High School where he was a stand out athlete for the Colonels. In football Gary was a three year starter and four year letter winner as a running back and linebacker. On the wrestling mat he was a three time Regional qualifier and earned a total of seven varsity letters during his high school career.

"We ask our players to be committed. We do not need to ask Gary twice. He proved last season he was a player we could count on to always be there ready to go and to play wherever we asked. We showed up to the I-75 Bowl with 15 players so everyone really had to play wherever we needed them to. Gary did not hesitate to jump in at defensive back and did a very nice job for us. We love his attitude and unselfish mindset. We are blessed to have him back on board and are expecting great things from him in 2025"-Director of Operations Paul Pennington.

Gary is currently unsponsored so if you would like to partner with us and sponsor him for the 2025 season please contact us below.
