ALL PURPOSE PLAYMAKER, ALEX GRIFFIN BACK ON BOARD

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the return of TE/DE-Alex Griffin (Colorado Mesa University) for the 2026 season. Alex begins his third season with the Express and returns as one of our starting specialists. Alex helped lead us to the 2025 PAFL playoffs in our first year back in the league.

In 2024, Alex played a major role in our 2024 TPFL Championship game appearance. We finished the season 11-2 and received an invite to the I-75 Pro Advancement Bowl (3-6 loss against the Sheboygan County Sabercats).

We also accepted the invite on January 18th to compete for a National Championship against the defending National Champion; Indy Bison in the USA Bowl in Daytona, FL. (0-41 Loss) Alex played a major role in those team accolades as well!

Alex Griffin is from Jamestown, NY and currently lives in Titusville, PA. Alex played 4 years of high school football, each year for a different school.

Despite being in a new system every year, Alex was still able to set a single game record his junior year with Indian River High School for most sacks in a single game. His only season at defensive end, Alex finished the season with 11 sacks, 14 TFL, 32 tackles, and 2 FF. As a senior, year he got to play WR for the first time averaging 20 yards per catch on 21 receptions for 432 yards and 3 tds.

Upon graduating Alex pursued his music career instead of playing for Clarion University. After 2 years at Full Sail University, Griffin moved to Colorado and was a walk on at Colorado Mesa University.

Alex has previous professional experience playing for the Flagler Black Knights (Florida).

Alex once again stepped away from the game to pursue his passion for music. Alex ultimately caught a break and started touring in Florida opening up for artists such as Lil Wayne, Cardi B, Rich Homie Quan, and Kodak Black.

Alex is currently the lead vocalists of a rock band called "The Undecided".
