All-Pro LB-Cam Sanders returns for 2021 season

by Erie Express Media

"Killa" Cam Sanders re-signs for the 2021 season!

The Erie Express are happy to announce the return of All-Pro LB-Cameron Sanders (Fullerton College) for the 2021 season. Cameron begins his second season with the Express and is a returning starter at the linebacker position.

Cam came on board week 4 last season and in his 9 games was named Erie Bank Sports Park Defensive Player of the Week 6 times. On the season Sanders recorded 91 tackles, 14 tackles for loss (-38yds), 4 sacks, 2 interceptions (30yds), 6 caused fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries and a pair of pass breakups. Sanders played a major role in our third consecutive Conference Finals appearance and overall team success. For his efforts, Sanders was named GDFL All-Pro in his rookie year.

"What a blessing Cam is to our team. Last year we lost one of our starting linebackers Tony D'Albora for the season due to an injury and our other inside linebacker Mike McKinnon was hampered all year with an injury as well. We needed someone to step up and fill those voids and Cam did that in a big way. He is very humble, says nothing but instead allows his play to speak for him. And judging by the numbers he put up last season...everything that needed to be said was said...without a single word. We are truly blessed to have Cam in an Express uniform and are expecting another All-Pro caliber year from him in 2021"-Director of Operations Paul Pennington.

Cam is a graduate of Central Tech, HS in Erie, PA. While at Central he was a standout on the football field and track for the Falcons. Sanders was selected to play in the Save an Eye All-Star Game and played his college ball at Fullerton College.
